Georgia State University Head Men's Basketball Coach; Coach Ron Hunter rocks for many reasons. My favorite thing about him is his heart for giving. He has been Samaritan's Feet Ambassador for a few years now ad prides himself in helping the underserved and less fortunate around the world by putting shoes on their feet. Giving is a huge part of the Men's Basketball team, thanks to coach Ron. He has taken his team to serve the poor in Nigeria and South Africa. I remember my first recruiting trip to Georgia State. That beautiful spring afternoon I went by the Women's Basketball Office, to take a tour of the basketball facilities. We had to pass through the entrance that takes one through the Men's Basketball offices and that was the first time I encountered Coach Ron. His secretary asked me where I was from and was very delighted when I told her; Nigeria. Shortly after some of the other coaches started smiling. The secretary told me that a foundation that was dear to the heart of the team was founded by a Nigerian, Manny Ohonme. They showed me Manny's book "Sole Purpose," and went on to tell me about Samaritan's feet and the team's recent trip to Nigeria. I was fascinated by that and asked if I could borrow it. To my surprise, they said I could keep it. I think that simple act of good solidified my decision to commit to Georgia State University. Now you know one of the reasons that Coach Ron rocks!
