Hey guys. Here's an exciting review for all of my amazing readers. John Perkins' "Confessions of An Economic Hit Man,"is a very captivating and eye opening read. The book is about the conspiracy and involvement of The United States and other developed countries to make the world a global empire. Corporations in the U.S would go to regions/countries around the world who have a tremendous supply of natural resources like petrol, with enticing business proposals that are too attractive to decline, all with the ulterior motive of making these countries accept loans that would keep them dependent on the U.S. These loans are usually paid off by these countries through U.S. corporations handling of huge projects in their countries. Projects that often involve removing and displacing poor residents from their communities with no hope of getting better lives. The only people who profit from these projects are the corrupt political leaders of such countries. This book puts a lot of current global issues into perspective. No U.S corporation would ever setup an office in a poor country if there is nothing to be gained from the deal. There's always a higher gain and profit to be made. Every help that they offer, comes with a huge price that these poor countries usually can't pay back. Anyway, to cut a long story short, this is a very good book and I HIGHLY recommend it! It is available on Amazon and Berett-Koehler Publisher. Check it out!
