ARE YOU BACKING UP FAITH WITH WORKS?!

Hey guys, welcome to my blog. As some of you already know, I attend an amazing Women's Bible Study, every Tuesday morning at Oak Hill Baptist Church in Griffin, Georgia. Well, today was Bible study day and I had the most amazing time as always, but today was particularly a different kind of amazing. It was so amazing that I had to share it with you all. So we talked about God's peace. We have been studying Priscilla Shirer's "Armor of God," for about 5 weeks now and it has been amazing! So we always watch a video from Priscilla before sharing our individual experience with one another and then discussing the topic of the day. In today's video, Priscilla was talking about FAITH, one of the Armors of God in Ephesians 6. She said that in the Bible we learn over 8,000 times about God talking about His divine provisions for us for each day. The Bible tells us that God will meet all of our needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus(Philippians 4 v. 8). What stood out to me was her explanation about the provisions we pray for, some of which God will put in our hands and many others that He puts within our grasp. So in order for us to have access to and receive them, we have to stretch/step out in Faith. No wonder the Bible says "Faith without works is dead," James 2 v. 17.

The reason I wanted to share this with you all is that many people give up and put their lives on hold because they are waiting for things and opportunities to be dropped on their laps. Some only pray about stuff and never move or step out in faith in the direction of that thing that they have prayed about. In most cases, life does not happen that way. Maybe there are things and doors you have been praying for that may seem impossible and way out of your reach, to the extent that you have almost given up. Well, I have good news for you. Why don't you step out in faith and push that door open. I know that there are times when we have exhausted ourselves knocking on a particular door for years, yet that door remains shut! instead of getting discouraged, what if we pray and ask God to direct us to the door that he knows would lead to our breakthrough? I am learning that when we pray about everything, God will step in and guide us in the direction that our miracle lies. Faith is very important. However, for Faith to change our lives, we have to be willing to work! For instance, if we are believing God for a new and better job, we still have to put in the work to fill-out applications and talk to family and friends who may have connections that could land us on a job. We have to always back out Faith with actions in order for us to see results. I just wanted to encourage today not to give up in your dream or self because you feel like it is taking too long for your dreams to come true. Have faith, work towards the direction of that dream. Make sure to always pray about EVERYTHING and I promise you that God (The Great I AM) will come through for you! Have a blessed week!
