THE DAY WE FED OVER A HUNDRED HOMELESS PEOPLE IN ATLANTA GEORGIA

Yesterday was a great day in my life. if you read my previous post, you already know where I am going with this. So my foundation; Maryam Shumate's Dream Big Foundation did her first EVER food DRIVE to feed 100 homeless people in downtown Atlanta, yesterday. Everything that was put together to make it possible was provided by me and my small family. Although we gave other people the opportunity to be a part of it but we still knew that we had to make the BULK of the sacrifice. I'm most grateful to God for surprising me with an unexpected check that the United States Government owed me from over a year ago. When that check came, I just knew that it was time to ACTIVATE THE FIRST OF MANY BIG DREAMS! The preparation didn't all go without bumps. In fact, on our way to the DRIVE location, my brother in-law decided to go ballistic and be disrespectful. I decided to take him back home since he decided not to help with the distribution anymore. It was my husband, the baby and I who were left. I knew it had to be done. the craziness that happened with Adam was just a distraction and thank God I didn't let it discourage me. To cut a long story short, when we got to the location, there was close to 200 people waiting on us. Thank God we had ENOUGH to feed a little over a hundred people. Prior to getting to the location, we were worried about how to distribute food to over 100 people BUT THANK GOD, the people were cooperative and we handed it out in less than 15 minutes! God is faithful!! Okay, I better stop writing now 'cos my baby is crying... He wants his milk COW!
